The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the daily purchasing activities in a manufacturing or distribution center

The Purchasing Specialist participates in ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures and ensuring that all transactions are made in accordance with agreed terms and conditions. This Purchasing Specialist reports to the Purchasing Leader for their assigned location. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Prepares purchase orders (POs) within the system as directed by the facility's supply chain management.

Ensure POs are created before commitment, and goods receipt (GR) is performed within 3 days of material or service delivery. Tracks the acknowledgement of the order by the supplier. Transmits and prioritizes approved purchase orders, with appropriate supporting documents, to the supplier.

Participate in planning reviews and alignment of operations with planning and production teams. Subscribe to and comply with purchasing procedures. Identify opportunities for improving lead time, cost reduction and on time delivery.

Support the local facility quality control department by communicating non-conformance reports with the supplier for their assigned orders. Prepare return documentation to the supplier when returns are needed. Follows up on exception messages (reschedules and cancellations) in a timely manner.

Ensure adherence to SLB-approved supplier agreements/contracts. Support accounts payable and warehouse functions in resolving reception and invoice discrepancies. Complete actions to continuously reduce wasted time, money and resources.

Comply with Schlumberger and local procedures applicable to the job function. All other duties as directed by their manager. Qualifications, Education and Competencies: Associates degree preferred, or equivalent minimum of two (2) years' experience in a supply chain specialist role.

Demonstrated commitment to making and communicating a culture of positive change throughout the supply chain organization. Exhibit problem solving skills. Continuous process improvement mindset, including experience with Lean / Six Sigma.

Strong working knowledge of ERP Systems (E.g. SAP). Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
