Job description

Job Title: SAP Basis Administrator

Location: East Hanover, NJ 07936 (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract (3–6 Months)

 

Job Summary

We are seeking a SAP Basis Administrator with 2+ years of experience to support and maintain enterprise SAP environments.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for SAP system administration, monitoring, transport management, system refreshes, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and support of SAP deployments.

The candidate should have experience working with SAP landscapes including ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and EWM, along with exposure to SAP HANA and cloud-based SAP environments.

The SAP Basis Administrator will play a key role in ensuring system availability, stability, security, and operational efficiency across the SAP landscape.

 

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day SAP Basis administration and operational support.

Monitor SAP systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability.

Manage SAP Transport Management System (TMS) activities across development, quality, and production environments.

Perform client copies, system refreshes, and landscape maintenance activities.

Support SAP system deployments, upgrades, kernel updates, and patch installations.

Troubleshoot SAP Basis-related incidents and resolve system issues in a timely manner.

Monitor and analyze system logs, background jobs, work processes, and performance metrics.

Support SAP Cloud ALM (CALM) monitoring and alert management activities.

Coordinate with functional, technical, infrastructure, and database teams to resolve issues.

Maintain SAP security compliance and support audit requirements.

Perform routine system health checks and preventive maintenance activities.

Support disaster recovery, backup validation, and business continuity processes.

Assist with SAP Fiori administration and related configurations.

Support SAP cloud initiatives including SAP RISE, SAP BTP, and AWS-hosted environments.

Document operational procedures, configurations, and support activities.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of hands-on SAP Basis Administration experience.

Strong experience with SAP NetWeaver administration.

Experience with SAP Transport Management System (TMS).

Hands-on experience performing client copies and system refresh activities.

Experience supporting SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and/or EWM environments.

Knowledge of SAP HANA databases (preferred).

Exposure to Oracle and MaxDB databases.

Experience administering Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.

Knowledge of SAP Cloud ALM (CALM).

Experience supporting SAP Fiori environments.

Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

Understanding of SAP system architecture and landscape management.

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SAP RISE and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

Exposure to cloud-hosted SAP environments.

Experience with AWS infrastructure and services.

Knowledge of SAP system upgrades, migrations, and patch management.

Understanding of SAP security concepts and compliance requirements.

SAP Basis certification is a plus.

Experience supporting enterprise-level SAP production environments.

Familiarity with automation and scripting tools for SAP administration.
