We provide a full suite of engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance services including repair, replacement, maintenance, and installation of natural gas, telecommunications, and electric infrastructure through our subsidiaries: SiteWise, Kelly Cable, Riley Brothers, 5 Star Electric, Superior Hydrovac and Superior Pipeline Services. 

Position Title: Driver - Same Day Paving

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

  • Assists crew leader in construction, reconstruction and maintenance work 
  • Assists equipment operators by swamping, hand digging and locating underground obstructions 
  • Works with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners and other industry tools 
  • Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials 
  • Works safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump truck 
  • Cleans and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards 
  • Maintains paperwork during the day including DVIR and driver’s log book 
  • Ensures the truck has current licenses, tags, permits, and proof of insurance 

Success Factors: 

  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions. 
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift 
  • Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling 
  • Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions 
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers 
  • Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy 
  • English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports 
  • Willingness and ability to learn additional skills  

Experience and Education: 

  • One (1+) plus years experience working in construction. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis. 
  • Possession of a valid State Driver’s License is required 
  • A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B is required 
  • Candidates must pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR check, a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical as a requirement of the job and pass a pre-employment drug screen 

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment. 
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
