Job description

The incumbent is to maintain a high quality level of care within the diagnostic clinical setting, and provide assistance and expertise when necessary, to all customers. The individual has the responsibility to ensure that educational needs are provided to all patients in The Center for Lung Health pertaining to pulmonary function testing, and evidence based practice pulmonary disease treatment. This person is responsible and accountable for the day to day management of patient care. He/She shall perform special projects as needed and participate in lung health screenings throughout the year. The clinician is responsible in handling critical lab values and promptly seeking physician orders for testing and communicating patient results in a timely professional manner.
This technician will perform pulmonary testing and evaluation, to include, but not limited to: spirometry, pre/post bronchodilator spirometrytechnician will perform pulmonary testing and evaluation, to include, but not limited to: spirometry, pre/post bronchodilator spirometry for testing.
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge by performing routine and complex procedures related to the care of all pulmonary disease patients. Behaves in a professional, customer-focused, service-oriented manner while displaying and promoting respect and dignity for all customers. The technician will be expected to always strive to seek out specific opportunities that can improve the customer experience in the clinic and encouraged to actively pursue those changes.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Junior College/Technical School required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • RRT by National Board for Respiratory Care required.
  • W.V. State Licensure for Respiratory Care required.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
  • Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist preferred.
  • Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist preferred.
