Job description

  • Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver patient care using the nursing process
  • Provide professional nursing care, including nursing assessments, examinations and treatments, patient education, and medical record maintenance
  • Deliver safe and appropriate care according to nursing skills inventory and patient age and needs
  • Coordinate nursing care planning with an interdisciplinary team and make appropriate clinical decisions
  • Collaborate with, direct, and delegate to the healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes
  • Coordinate treatment plans and develop/implement discharge or transfer plans
  • Participate in interdisciplinary program evaluation, process improvement, and assessment of client-centered outcomes
  • Address diverse patient needs throughout the continuum of care and optimize the patient experience
  • Ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors while following Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards
  • Promote professional growth through continuing education and competency requirements; potentially serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource
  • Model compassionate, personalized, safe, and efficient service standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • Bachelor of Nursing preferred
  • Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
  • Certified in Basic Life Support
  • CEN within one year of hire
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • RN I: less than 1 year of experience
  • RN II: 1โ€“3 years of experience
  • RN III: 3โ€“10 years of experience
  • RN IV: 10+ years of experience
  • Compliance with regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards
