Job Title: RF Satellite Communications Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on testing, troubleshooting, and supporting satellite communication systems with a strong emphasis on RF (radio frequency) technology. The technician applies advanced RF testing skills, uses specialized test equipment, and supports the development and maintenance of satellite and telecommunications systems. The position requires a dependable professional who communicates clearly, follows established policies and procedures, and consistently delivers accurate, high-quality work.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of field-related or military experience in satellite communications.
  • Advanced RF testing skills with hands-on experience in RF communication systems.
  • Working knowledge of RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, frequency counters, and similar instruments.
  • Knowledge and experience in satellite communication systems, including SATCOM and satellite telecommunications.
  • Advanced computer skills for operating test software, documenting results, and supporting networked systems.
  • LAN/WAN networking experience to support integrated satellite and communication systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in AC/DC electrical fundamentals.
  • Ability to read and follow schematics and technical diagrams accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow company policies and procedures.
  • High attention to detail in testing, documentation, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Mechanical aptitude to support hands-on work with RF and satellite communication hardware.
  • Dependability, including consistent punctuality and reliable communication.
  • Residence in or ability to be based in Plano, Texas.
  • Eligibility to work under ITAR regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field is a plus.
  • Background in radio, RF technician work, or electronics with emphasis on RF communication systems.
  • Experience developing or executing test plans for satellite communication systems and related equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a technical team.

Work Environment

The role is based in Plano, Texas and involves working in a technical lab or field environment focused on satellite and RF communication systems. The technician regularly uses RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, frequency counters, and specialized test sets, along with computers and networking tools for LAN/WAN configurations. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
