Job description

The Lead Contract Specialist provides time-sensitive, solutions-oriented, strategic contracting support for Communication's OR Renovation business in a manner that manages business and legal risk and enables opportunities, improves processes, and demonstrates a commitment to commercial excellence, while this is a remote position, there is a strong preference for candidates located near Dallas, TX.

What you will do

  • Draft, edit, review, and negotiate OR Renovation contracts on behalf of Stryker's Communications business unit

  • Timely support internal and external customers in a fast-paced environment Advise internal customers on contracting, legal, finance, and business strategies as well as company policies and procedures

  • Identify business and legal risks and propose solutions for mitigation, escalating issues for legal review and resolution as appropriate, and representing Stryker's interests professionally and in a solutions-oriented manner

  • Exhibit solid negotiation skills, including comfort negotiating contract terms directly with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other third parties.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the GQO organization and the Global Legal and Compliance function

  • Exercise excellent judgment in identifying and escalating issues to management

  • Develop and maintain a full understanding of the OR Renovation organization and the Communications business unit

  • Monitor and track status of contract-related matters and proactively provide updates

  • Identify system or process improvements that increase efficiency, compliance, or reduce cost to the business and assist with execution of the improvements

  • Act as an SME for OR Renovation contracts and acts as a single point of contact for all first pass reviews for any contractual document in need of legal review

  • Partner with attorneys on formal education programs, classes, and events where it's expected that you create content, present, and answer questions to OR Renovation organization on specific topics affecting the legal/contract management space

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure business alignment.

  • Partner with attorneys in the development of new contract templates.

  • Take on expanded responsibility to review additional Endoscopy division non-commercial contracts, as able and as time permits

What you'll need

Required

  • Minimum 4 years of work experience

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience supporting contracts for construction, renovation, facility installation, capital equipment, or project-based work.

  • Experience identifying and implementing contracting, workflow, or process improvements.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting healthcare, medical device, hospital, operating room, or other regulated environments.

  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Sales, Operations, Project Management, or commercial teams.

  • Experience drafting and reviewing documentation

  • Experience with direct contract negotiations

  • Expertise with MS Office products

  • Salesforce experience

  • US5: $93,800 - $156,200 USD Annual
  • US10: $98,200 - $163,700 USD Annual
  • US15: $102,700 - $171,100 USD Annual
  • US20: $107,200 - $178,600 USD Annual
  • US30: $116,100 - $193,400 USD Annual
