As a travel pharmacist with Soliant, you will enjoy a compensation package built for travelers, including full travel allowances covering housing, meals, and travel-related expenses, weekly pay, and medical benefits.

Employment Type: Travel Contract

Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Work Hours: First shift, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

System: RPMS, Resource and Patient Management System

Industry: Healthcare, Indian Health Service, Tribal Health

About This Opportunity

This is an Indian Health Service facility serving a Native American community in a remote and scenic area of Arizona. The pharmacist will provide comprehensive pharmacy services to a patient population that genuinely depends on and values the care they receive. IHS facilities use RPMS, the Resource and Patient Management System, which is the pharmacy platform used across Indian Health Service and tribal health facilities nationwide. Training is provided for the right candidate who may not have prior RPMS experience.

One of the most attractive features of this assignment for California pharmacists is the proximity and accessibility. Arizona is right next door, and a California pharmacist license is all you need to work at this IHS facility; no additional Arizona license is required. This is a seamless opportunity for a California-licensed pharmacist ready to explore something truly unique just across the state line.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive pharmacy services to Native American patients and community members
Verify and process medication orders accurately and efficiently using RPMS
Counsel patients on medications, side effects, and adherence in a culturally sensitive manner
Consult with physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members on medication therapy and patient care needs
Ensure safe medication dispensing and regulatory compliance throughout all operations
Support the overall health and wellness mission of the Indian Health Service facility

Experience

Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
IHS or tribal health facility experience a strong plus
RPMS experience helpful, willing to train the right candidate
Culturally sensitive approach to patient care preferred

Skills

Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in a unique healthcare environment
Genuine compassion and respect for the Native American patient population and culture
Effective communicator with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams
Self-sufficient and comfortable working in a remote community health setting
Flexible and open to a truly unique pharmacy experience

Qualifications

Active California Pharmacist License in good standing required
No Arizona license required; California license accepted at this IHS facility
Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
Full travel allowances provided including housing, meals, and travel expenses
Soliant offers Licensing Assistance for future state licensure needs: https://www.soliant.com/about/benefits/

Education

Doctor of Pharmacy, PharmD, or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy

Arizona is right next door, and the remote communities of the Colorado Plateau and desert Southwest offer an experience unlike anything most California pharmacists ever get to encounter in their careers. The stunning red rock landscapes, wide open skies, and rich cultural heritage of the Southwest make this one of the most memorable travel assignments available anywhere in the country. Come spend 13 weeks doing meaningful work in a place that will leave a lasting impression long after the assignment ends.

Apply now and feel free to reach out to Thomas directly; we would love to connect and tell you more about this incredible opportunity!
