Job description

About the role:

Denver, CO

We are looking for a Project Engineer to support capital projects at power generation facilities across Colorado. You will combine engineering expertise with project management responsibilities, overseeing the delivery of facility improvement and reliability projects. You will partner with plant operations, reliability engineering, contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.

This is a hybrid role supporting power generation facilities throughout Colorado. You should expect to work onsite at plant locations approximately three days per week, with increased onsite presence during active project execution. Travel will vary based on project assignments and may require occasional overnight stays within Colorado. We reimburse eligible business travel expenses, including lodging, mileage, and meals, observing company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple capital projects from initiation through completion, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and closeout.
  • Support plant reliability projects by identifying project opportunities and developing technical justifications and project scopes.
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, vendors, and consultants to complete projects.
  • Develop scopes of work, technical specifications, bid packages, and contractor requirements.
  • Oversee contractor activities in the field to ensure work is completed safely and following project requirements.
  • Track project schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables while providing regular status updates to team members.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement, material deliveries, and installation activities.
  • Participate in daily plant meetings and collaborate with site personnel to prioritize critical work and maintain operational reliability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, or related discipline).
  • 2 years of project engineering, project management, plant engineering, maintenance engineering, or related experience.
  • Experience managing projects from planning through execution and closeout.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Colorado.
