Contract Quality Engineering Professional   - BWX Technologies, Inc.  -  Barberton, OH

Responsibilities include:  

  • Review manufacturing processes, purchase order technical packages and repair plans for compliance to contract and specification requirements
  • Support component production and manufacturing processes and resolve quality issues.
  • Participate in or lead formal internal or supplier audits
  • Conduct informal shop floor compliance audits
  • Participate in or lead root cause investigations
  • Manage CAPA (corrective action) resolution for component or process issues
  • Lead process improvement based on defect history or rework cost
  • Lead First Time Quality readiness efforts
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance records
  • Develop and implement inspection improvement plans
  • Procedure development and ownership
  • Maintenance of ISO9000 quality system procedures and work instructions

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • 5 years relevant experience, bachelor's degree in engineering or other applicable technical field preferred, but not required
  • Solid math/statistical skills.
  • Ability to read complex drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Experience or knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and assembly preferred but not required.
  • Experience or knowledge of dimensional inspection techniques, as well as other non-destructive test methods
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a federal background investigation. Position requires U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship) with ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

 Pay: $76,000 - $105,000

The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $76,000 and $105,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
