Quality Inspector

Job Description

The Quality Inspector (within food or medicine) is responsible for performing receiving inspections and sampling of raw materials, monitoring startup inspections of Mixing, Production, and Packaging operations, and releasing finished products for inventory or shipment. The role involves inspecting products to ensure compliance with order specifications, company quality control systems, and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving inspections and sampling of raw materials.
  • Monitor startup inspections of Mixing, Production, and Packaging operations.
  • Release finished products for inventory or shipment.
  • Conduct inspections including observations for SOP adherence, accuracy, and quality of operations.
  • Examine company records to secure information such as product size and weight, and results of quality tests.
  • Inspect products to determine compliance with order specifications, quality control systems, and legal requirements.
  • Disposition stickers on materials and issue use cards when required.
  • Prioritize sampling, testing, and paperwork related to raw materials and in-process products.
  • Submit samples of products and materials to the laboratory for testing.
  • Stamp marks of approval or rejection on products and write examination reports.
  • Possess the authority to stop any non-conforming manufacturing process.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in quality inspection, documentation, and data entry.
  • Experience in GMP, inspection, and blueprint interpretation.
  • Strong visual inspection skills.
  • Ability to handle and record data neatly and accurately.
  • Capability to perform job responsibilities under minimal supervision.
