Position Summary

The Quality Inspector position is responsible to ensure employees are producing the highest quality parts for our customers. The position is directly involved in all employee training of our Quality Systems, ISO 9001 protocols and measuring instruments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform Quality inspections on First and Final Article(s) of finished products using typical Quality measuring instruments such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, comparator, thread/pin/plug gauges, etc.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 & Quality System and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure Quality equipment has current calibration
  • Perform daily Quality inspection of incoming material and components to ensure compliance.
  • Perform daily routine checks at the machine(s) to ensure that parts are being made to specification.
  • Maintain accurate records of approved units, defective units, and final product quantities, signing off on machine/job task (s) performed on job traveler.
  • Handle all Non-Compliance issues related to our customers and vendors.
  • Perform employee training of our Quality Systems to that ensure they are knowledgeable, have the skills and abilities to perform their job responsibilities satisfactory to our Quality expectations.
  • Maintain good housekeeping of work area on a daily basis
  • Maintain good attendance and professional appearance
  • Other tasks may be assigned
Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, analytical, and technical skills
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Mathematical skills to have the ability to read blueprints and manuals
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient computer skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications.
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree preferred not required, or relevant work experience.
  • Associate degree from an accredited university or college is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems, & ISO 9001 preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing shop floor environment and Quality/Process Improvements
