Job Title: Software Engineer Job Category: Engineering Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Continental US Anticipated Posting End: 9/30/2026 The Opportunity: Are you ready to build the automated testing that keeps complex products running reliably? We're seeking a Software Engineer to develop and own Python-based test automation for one of our key programs. In this role, you'll design, implement, and maintain software that integrates with external hardware to exercise both the hardware and our product for verification and regression testing.

You'll be responsible for the full development lifecycle-from understanding requirements through coding, debugging, and continuous improvement-while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to expand coverage and improve product quality. Join us and help drive robust, scalable test solutions that ensure our products perform as designed in the real world. Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain Python-based automated test software for a key product, owning the full lifecycle from design and implementation through execution and ongoing improvement.

* Integrate external hardware with Python (e.g., via drivers, APIs, and communication interfaces) to exercise both the hardware and our product for verification and regression testing. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product and hardware requirements into robust, repeatable automated test coverage that improves quality and reduces manual effort. * Analyze automated test results, troubleshoot issues, and drive root-cause identification to help ensure reliable, high-quality product releases.

Qualifications: Required: * Experience in software development or test automation, or equivalent practical experience. * Strong proficiency in Python, including writing clean, modular, and maintainable code. * Interest in or experience with integrating external hardware with software (e.g., using communication protocols such as USB, Serial, Ethernet, or vendor-specific SDKs/APIs).

* Solid understanding of software development best practices (version control, code review, debugging, documentation). * Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a team. * Strong problem-solving skills and a mindset focused on quality and verification.

* Active TS/SCI clearance. * 5 years of related work experience. Desired: * Experience developing in Python or in structurally similar languages/patterns (e.g., Java, C#, TypeScript, or C++ with strong OOP, standard library use, and unit testing), with a demonstrated ability or strong willingness to transfer those skills into a Python-based environment * Experience with automated test frameworks (e.g., pytest, unittest, Robot Framework, or similar).

* Experience with lab/measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, DAQs, etc.) and their automation * Familiarity with CI/CD systems and integrating automated tests into build pipelines. * Familiarity with one of more of the following cellular standards: GSM, UMTS, LTE - What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.
