Software Validation Test Engineer 


On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Software Validation Test Engineer for a contract opportunity in Longmont, CO.


Software Validation Test Engineer Job Details


  • We are seeking a software validation engineer who is motivated, creative, and has strong validation skills. This person will oversee one area of validation for a cutting edge IO implementation.
  • Create test integration and system level test cases based on existing requirements and test plan
  • Document how test cases work and what the expected outcome should be.
  • Automate test case runs to cover a variety of parameters to validate new features. 
  • Participate in engineering requirements and design reviews with an eye on testability and usability.
  • Exploratory testing into prototype new feature code to find issues early on. 
  • Verify that new features fulfill requirements in established documents. 


Software Validation Test Engineer Mandatory Skills


  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in development and/or testing role.
  • Technical background and an understanding of the *NIX IO
  • Experiencing developing test plans, test cases and executing them to validate user space Linux IO Software 
  • Good development/scripting skills in common languages like C, Python, Bash 
  • Good experience with different Operating Systems, with emphasis on Unix variants, primarily Linux 
  • Strong debugging, instrumenting, and performance evaluation skills
  • Testing of software with RAS to handle unexpected hardware failure
  • Strong networking fundamentals including configuration, tuning, performance evaluation of tcp and infiniband networks
  •  Familiarity with client server applications and writing test cases to validate this software
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of storage subsystems file systems
  • Experience in using Jenkins to build software, add tests and run a CI environment 


Preferred Qualifications


  • Must be flexible, independent and self motivated 
  • Experience using and testing Linux software such as Mercury or other IO forwarding or burst buffers.
  • Experienced in using Linux, valgrind to find new bugs, debuggers,and profiling tools 
  • Real world HPC testing at large scale to find problems with software scaling
  • Have used Jenkins and github autotest for CI testing
