Role Overview:
This role focuses on designing and implementing scalable, high-performance datacenter and hybrid cloud network architectures. Key responsibilities include defining core, distribution, and access layer designs using Cisco technologies, architecting high availability and redundancy models, and establishing network standards. The position also involves optimizing network performance, leading capacity planning, and driving network automation initiatives to support Tier 0/1 applications and improve security posture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance datacenter network architectures.
- Define core, distribution, and access layer designs using Cisco technologies.
- Architect high availability (HA) and redundancy models (active-active / active-passive).
- Establish network standards, design patterns, and governance frameworks.
- Architect and manage Cisco core switches and routers (Nexus, Catalyst platforms).
- Design Layer 2 and Layer 3 network topology and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
- Optimize network performance, latency, and throughput across enterprise environments.
- Lead capacity planning and network scalability initiatives.
- Design and implement Citrix ADC (NetScaler) solutions for application delivery.
- Configure load balancing, SSL offloading, and traffic optimization.
- Architect secure access solutions and application availability models.
- Integrate load balancing into hybrid and multi-site environments.
- Design cloud network architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), including VPC/VNet design.
- Enable hybrid connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute).
- Architect secure connectivity between on-prem datacenters and cloud platforms.
- Support multi-region and multi-cloud networking strategies.
- Architect resilient networks with failover and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Implement network segmentation, firewall integration, and Zero Trust principles.
- Design solutions aligned with enterprise security and compliance standards.
- Conduct DR testing and network failover validation exercises.
- Drive network automation using tools like Ansible and Python scripting.
- Support infrastructure modernization initiatives (SDN, software-defined networking).
- Integrate networking with DevOps and platform engineering ecosystems.
- Lead transition toward intent-based and programmable networks.
- Deliver highly available, resilient network architecture supporting Tier 0/1 applications.
- Optimize network performance and reduce latency across enterprise systems.
- Enable seamless hybrid connectivity between datacenter and cloud environments.
- Improve security posture and compliance adherence.
- Accelerate network provisioning through automation.
Required Skills:
- 15+ years of experience as a Network Architect.
- Networking: Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, core routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
- Load balancing: Citrix ADC (NetScaler), traffic management.
- Cloud networking: AWS, Azure, GCP (VPC, subnets, routing, gateways).
- Connectivity: VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect.
- Security: network segmentation, firewalls, Zero Trust frameworks.
- Automation: Ansible, Python.
- 12-18+ years of experience in network architecture and engineering.
- Proven experience designing enterprise datacenter and hybrid cloud networks.
- Strong expertise in Cisco networking and Citrix load balancing solutions.
- Experience with large-scale network transformation initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) / CCIE.
- Citrix Certified Professional - Networking (CCP-N).
- Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure Networking Specialty).
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience.
Preferred Skills:
