Job description

Structural Design Engineer

$85,000 – $120,000+ (commensurate with EIT or PE status)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established, industry-leading manufacturer of commercial and industrial construction products with a strong national presence and a reputation for innovation, sustainability, and an exceptional workplace culture. They are seeking a talented and driven Structural Design Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to grow their career in a collaborative, high-performance environment where safety, teamwork, and individual contribution are genuinely valued.

Position Overview

Our client is looking for an ambitious structural design engineer to assist their team in designing safe, accurate, and cost-effective products at their Indiana facility. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional departments — including estimating, sales, detailing, project management, finance, production, and shipping — to ensure the complete success of each project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review contract documents and identify critical design information
  • Communicate unique design requirements effectively to the detailing department
  • Utilize proprietary design software to safely and accurately design projects
  • Engineer small, unique internal projects to support plant operational efficiency
  • Collaborate closely with all departments to grow professionally as an individual and as an engineer
  • Meet with engineers and architects in the regional construction market to present product advantages and team capabilities
  • Conduct job site visits to deepen understanding of real-world construction processes
  • Initiate, lead, and uphold all safety practices, policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times — safety is the top priority

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $85,000 – $120,000+, depending on experience and EIT/PE status
  • Annual performance-based bonus with strong historical averages (20%+)
  • Medical, Dental, Vision & Disability Insurance
  • 401(k) and Roth accounts
  • Profit Sharing
  • Paid parental leave
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Employee stock program
  • Scholarships and additional perks

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline from an ABET-accredited program (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam, or ability to pass prior to start date
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a structural or civil engineer

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of engineering experience
  • PE license (or strong desire and commitment to obtain licensure)
  • Openness to relocation for future promotional and leadership opportunities

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply. Our client is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
