Contract Controller

Position Summary: The Contract Controller is responsible for managing accounting and financial operations on a contract basis, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective financial controls. This role partners with leadership to oversee day-to-day accounting functions, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and provide financial insight to support business decisions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee general accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reports.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and key business metrics.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and financial partners as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support leadership decision-making.
  • Support special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of progressive accounting or financial management experience.
  • Experience overseeing general accounting functions and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • CPA designation is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
