The Construction Manager is an owners representative leading programs consisting of multiple restaurant TI and ground up / new build projects for our multi-site client in the retail/restaurant industry. The Project Manager will act as an extension of an owner’s design and construction staff. The Project Manager will oversee the work of general contractors, designers and vendors for multiple locations and lead full program delivery including, pre-construction services (bid, permit, schedule), construction oversight (construction, change orders, invoicing, punch lists), and project closeout.

Work Conditions & Travel:

This is a remote based role for qualified individuals who live in the Northern California Bay Area / Sacramento market and surrounding states. Travel is required 50-80% on an as needed basis up to and including weekly site visits. Multi-shift work may be required to accomplish work in active retail locations to meet aggressive schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • On-Site project management of construction activities
  • Directs and coordinates the activities of project team to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Proactively communicates project related issues directly with Senior Project Manager, Project Executive, or Operations Director.
  • Examines construction documentation including drawings, schedules, and scopes to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Reviews bid results, specifications, test and progress reports, and other project information necessary to gain complete familiarity with the project.
  • Confirms and verifies permitting requirements related to the project or program.
  • Directly manages and monitors project work in the field.
  • Diligently manages change orders to projects.
  • Follows established standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
  • Prepares and provides weekly status reports for projects.
  • Proactively identifies and solves or elevates project issues related to cost, schedule, safety, or qualify.
  • Represents the company in project meetings.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with clients, potential clients, subcontractors and vendors to help develop new opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-year degree in an accredited construction related program or equivalent; or
  • 7-10+ years related experience in QSR/KITCHEN retail construction project management
  • Ground Up construction experience is highly preferred/critical
  • Strong understanding of multi-site program management
  • Expertise in construction processes including pre-construction, permitting, scheduling, and closeout

Pay & Benefits: The anticipated compensation range for the position is $120,000 - $130,000 is based on a full-time schedule, market and business conditions, and is commensurate on individual education, qualifications, and experience.
