Position: Project Manager / Construction Management

Location: Bend, OR (Onsite)

Length: 12+ Month Contract


Job Description:

The Construction Manager will oversee and direct construction projects from construction kick-off through completion, ensuring seamless communication and coordination. This role is responsible for helping ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with regulatory standards, including Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and the superintendent for all construction-related matters.
  • Foster collaborative communication and effective coordination between internal project teams and construction field personnel.
  • Supervise construction activities to ensure alignment with project objectives, specifications, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage the construction schedule, monitoring progress against milestones and critical paths to support timely completion.
  • Address and resolve construction issues or conflicts in collaboration with the superintendent.
  • Compile and distribute regular construction reports and updates to project stakeholders, including accomplishments, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Enforce adherence to EHS standards and cGMP regulations throughout the construction phase.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits, including GEMBA walks, with the safety team to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain construction standards and specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality assurance checks.
  • Lead the construction team, providing guidance and promoting a collaborative, productive work environment.
  • Lead risk assessments at project milestones to identify potential risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead constructability design reviews to ensure project designs are feasible and practical for construction implementation.
  • Define and communicate responsibilities for project deliverables, approval limits, and escalation procedures.
  • Provide expertise in identifying project-specific risks and evaluating potential cost and schedule impacts.
  • Participate in periodic risk reviews and act as risk owner for designated risks.
  • Provide input on the overall master schedule, including baseline updates and reporting.
  • Provide input on schedule development and updates to support the project execution approach.
  • Verify contractor schedules to ensure they accurately reflect planned construction activities and timelines.
  • Monitor construction milestones and coordinate necessary adjustments to maintain project timelines.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of proven experience in construction management or a similar role.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, regulated manufacturing, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
  • 5+ years of expert-level knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules and regulations, and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages.
  • Strong communication, coordination, leadership, problem-solving, and risk-management skills.
