Job description

Position Overview:

This person will be responsible for leading and managing the AFGSC Internship Program at LA Tech University's Innovation Department. He/She will ensure the successful delivery and management of Internship Program and is responsible for coordination between LA Tech University, Grambling State University, LSU Shreveport University, University of Louisiana Monroe faculty, Director of Data Engineering and Analytics assigned projects. He/She will ensure the program's scope, quality, time and cost goals are met.

  • Leads Air Force Global Strike Command's (AFGSC) University Partnership Program (UPP) at northern Louisiana Universities. Applies processes, procedures, and principles to integrate Data Analytics Integration and Commercial Capabilities Integration Teams' goals, objectives, and desired effects into internship program.
  • Maintains the program's policies and procedures, technical standards and methods, and priorities. Prepares a variety of correspondence and other documentation, i.e., formal letters, position papers, reports, staff studies, staff summary packages, briefings, charts, bullet background papers, etc.
  • Coordinates the management of all work performed on tasks under the contract with LA Tech University Innovation Department, AFGSC Data Analytics Collaboration Cell and Commercial Capabilities Integration Team Leads.
  • Coordinate facility requirement and access, parking passes and other requests for SBCC office space in Tech Pointe 1 with the LA Tech facility manager and Innovation Enterprise to acquire access for SBCC employees.
  • Coordinates and oversees project/study work. Prepares and delivers oral presentations such as briefings, training sessions, consultations, and strategy sessions with other staff and subordinate unit organizations to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters, and convey information relative to proposed changes in assigned programs.
  • Support student development and engagement initiatives by coordinating learning opportunities, professional development resources, and activities that promote successful integration and growth throughout the UPP participants' experience.
  • Works independently, or under the general direction of senior level company management and AFGSC Program Lead on all phases of performance including project/task order management, coordination of resource needs, coordination with corporate resources and management.
  • Reports to senior company management on contract and task performance and issues. Has direct accountability for the technical correctness, timeliness and quality of deliverables, and the implementation and measurement of corporate and client quality standards and methodologies.
  • Has a broad and deep knowledge of the industry, business administration, and human resource management and has excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with forementioned Universities, USG and SBCC staff and other agencies in order to share information and efficiently assist USG with mission-related work.

Required education and experience

  • Degree: The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position or 5-10 years of related experience.

Preferred education and experience

  • Master's Degree: field directly related to the position or 10+ years of experience.
