The Stationary Engineer will be working within the FMO Division reporting directly to the Contract Manager. This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all mechanical systems under the contract including pumps, AHUs, fans, unit heaters, etc., and holding themselves accountable for achieving specific operational objectives at the Plant. This is a union position.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Start-up, operation, and shutdown of building equipment and systems, including the use of computerized Building Automation System
  • Maintain operating logs on all operating equipment and take readings as required.
  • Complete operational logbook entries.
  • All mechanical maintenance duties including daily, monthly quarterly and annual task as described by PM workorders
    • Fan and AHU maintenance and alignment
    • Minor chiller and heat pump servicing and trouble shooting
    • Compressor maintenance,
    • All mechanical maintenance duties such as filter and belt changing.
  • Perform corrective work orders.
  • Perform all task associated with the closing of work orders including completion of notes and inputting of time and parts used.
  • Provide timely and complete information regarding potential areas of non-compliance with applicable codes and standards and recommend corrective measures.
  • Inspection of idle equipment, and cleaning, preservation, lubrication, and adjustment of plant equipment in accordance with the rating of such equipment
  • Respond to service calls during shift which may include emergency repairs and coordination of subcontractors.
  • This position will also cross-train in other facilities.
  • Report to the Contract Manager on the day-to-day operations of this function of the contract.
  • Complete reporting via email and or service reports.
  • Assist with commissioning of new or updated equipment.
  • Ensure that all persons attending the mechanical areas are always using the correct PPE.
  • Attend the site after hours if needed.
  • Keep mechanical rooms and equipment clean.
  • Verify PSPC asset numbers and provide data for any equipment not in equipment lists.
  • Use company supplied vehicle for pick-up of parts and supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 4th Class Power Engineer certificate

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years working experience demonstrating abilities in the duties above.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to speak, read & write in English and French an asset
  • Able to hold and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Good verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Able to follow instructions both written and verbal
  • Always maintain a professional demeanor with fellow employees and customers

This position's wage rate follows the 787 Union Agreement schedule.
