Job description

Job Title: I&E Foreman - Field Install (Oil & Gas)

Location: North Dakota
Job Type: [Full-time / 1 year Contract]
Start Date: TBD

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Foreman to oversee the field installation of electrical and automation equipment on an oil and gas site. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant field experience, a strong understanding of oilfield operations, and the necessary certifications to supervise I&E crews in a safety-first environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate field crews during installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical and automation systems.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, loop diagrams, and P&IDs.

  • Oversee installation of MCCs, PLC panels, VFDs, motors, instrumentation, and conduit/wiring systems.

  • Maintain daily work logs, provide progress updates, and ensure timely completion of tasks.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades onsite.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in oilfield I&E work with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.

  • Valid certifications (as applicable):

    • Journeyman or Master Electrician License (state-specific)

    • PEC/Safeland

    • OSHA 10 or 30

    • First Aid/CPR

    • H2S Awareness

    • TWIC (if required by site)

  • Proficient in NEC, API, and industry standards for hazardous areas.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in upstream oil and gas production facilities.

  • Knowledge of SCADA systems, automation panels, and commissioning protocols.

Compensation:
Competitive pay based on experience. Per diem and housing may be provided for eligible candidates.
