Job description

Job Title : Seaware Functional Lead
Location: Fort Lauderdale, Miami, FL, USA (Onsite)
Duration: Long Term Contract

Cruise line / hospitality reservation and booking platforms

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Seaware Onsite Functional Lead to serve as the onsite quality anchor for a cruise reservation-systems program. Based full-time at the client''s Miami headquarters, this individual will own functional test leadership across the Seaware platform — with deep, hands-on command of the Seaware Core and Seaware Touch modules — while directing an offshore execution team and acting as the primary QA point of contact for client business and technology stakeholders. The role blends functional reservation-systems expertise, delivery leadership across an onsite–offshore model, and confident, executive-ready stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities
Seaware Functional Leadership (Core & Touch)
  • Own functional test strategy and coverage across the Seaware platform, with primary depth in the Seaware Core reservation engine and the Seaware Touch booking/agent interface.
  • Validate end-to-end reservation lifecycles — availability and search, booking creation, modifications, cancellations, pricing and fare recalculation, promotions and discounts, payments, refunds/voids, and documentation.
  • Exercise hands-on Seaware Core configuration knowledge — product, sailing, cabin/inventory, fare and rule setup — to design realistic test scenarios and diagnose configuration-driven defects.
  • Lead functional testing of Seaware Touch workflows — call-center and travel-agent booking journeys, guest and group handling, and the customer-facing booking experience.
  • Define and maintain functional regression, smoke, and business-critical test suites; scope coverage intelligently under compressed sprint timelines.
  • Review business requirements and reservation business logic to ensure full functional coverage and accurate implementation of pricing and workflow rules.
Onsite–Offshore Delivery Coordination
  • Act as the single onsite point of accountability for QA delivery, translating client priorities into clear, executable work for the offshore team.
  • Run daily handoffs and overlap-window rituals so the offshore team is never blocked, with disciplined written communication of scope, defects, and priorities.
  • Track test execution, defect status, and blockers across time zones; own daily triage and status reporting to keep delivery on schedule.
  • Manage test-data, environment (DEV/UAT) stability, and Core setup access dependencies, escalating and resolving blockers proactively.
Customer & Stakeholder Interaction
  • Serve as the face of QA to client business, product, and technology stakeholders, building trust through clear, evidence-based communication.
  • Translate QA status, risks, and coverage into business-focused updates suited to product owners and executive audiences — not internal test reports.
  • Facilitate defect triage, prioritization, and release readiness discussions with client and vendor stakeholders.
  • Represent QA in program governance, steering, and release checkpoints, communicating risk and readiness with composure and credibility.
Required Skills:
  • 8+ years in QA / functional testing, including a lead or senior role with delivery accountability.
  • Demonstrable, hands-on Seaware experience — functional testing and configuration knowledge of the Seaware Core and Seaware Touch modules is mandatory.
  • Deep reservation-systems domain knowledge — booking flows, fares/pricing, promotions, payments and refunds, and post-booking modifications.
  • Cruise line or hospitality reservation-platform experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven onsite–offshore coordination — leading or interfacing with distributed offshore teams across time zones.
  • Strong client-facing communication — comfortable owning stakeholder relationships and presenting to business and executive audiences.
  • Functional test management fluency — test planning, coverage design, defect lifecycle, and sign-off; tools such as Jira, Zephyr, Xray, or TestRail.
  • Able to work full-time onsite at the client''s Miami, Florida headquarters.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience supporting a Seaware platform migration or parallel legacy/new-platform run.
  • Exposure to GDS and distribution channel integrations (e.g., Revelex, Sabre, Amadeus, Odysseus).
  • Familiarity with payment gateway and PCI considerations in a reservation/payment context.
  • Working knowledge of API and database-level validation to support root-cause analysis.
