POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for leading a team that manages indirect spend categories comprising of Freight, MRO Supplies, Capital Equipment, Packaging, Utilities, and Services, to support manufacturing and distribution located in North America. The individual in this position will develop processes, resolve issues, and track and monitor progress of team on established KPIs. Also responsible for collaborating effectively with suppliers and stakeholders.
POSTION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead team responsible for freight, MRO supplies, equipment, packaging, utilities and services to maintain procurement operations at US Production facilities.
  • Manages development and execution of Procurement processes in line with established metrics
  • Delivers cost reduction in managed spend categories by actively pursuing cost reduction opportunities and negotiating with suppliers
  • Develops contracts and service agreements with suppliers, ensures supply base delivers to the expected service levels and KPIs defined
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders, regional group companies, and suppliers to resolve issues
  • Locates, qualifies, and establishes a network of vendors to supply materials and services
  • Leads SAP and Business process improvement initiatives impacting managed spend areas
  • Prepares bid requests and reviews supply quotations.
  • Leads Procurement projects and participates in cross-functional projects as assigned.
  • Communicates effectively with suppliers, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Coach and Mentor direct reports, and other Procurement team members.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Purchasing of Indirect Spend categories in a mid-large size organization (required)
  • At least 3 years of experience with managing global freight and transportation (required)
  • Bachelors' degree in business or related (required), MBA (desired)
  • CPM or CSCP certification (desired)
  • Chemical industry background (desired)
