The Platform Engineering organization is looking for an individual to join our Software Infrastructure development team in Broomfield Colorado. This team is responsible for building the core application infrastructure that enables Recurly to scale. As a member of this team, you will be part of defining the next generation of platform services leveraging the latest cloud technologies. Your skills and ability to learn quickly will be stretched as you participate in a wide range of projects building core services leveraged by Recurly's entire engineering ecosystem. Software Infrastructure is a highly regarded team and you'd be collaborating with some of the brightest and most dedicated engineers at Recurly.
This role requires a depth of professional experience working in languages and frameworks such as Golang, Next.js and Ruby on Rails, the ability to learn rapidly, a desire to lead, design, and implement features in Golang applications, strength in turning complex business requirements into elegant and maintainable code, experience creating stable and reliable integrations between separate business systems, and an enthusiasm for making a measurable impact on the business while consistently seeking to drive business value through technological solutions.
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in requirements and solution design sessions, working closely with stakeholders from across the entire organization.
  • Define technical impacts, recommend best-practice and/or alternate approaches and provide timeline estimates.
  • Test, analyze, and address issues with products and features.
  • Collaborate on and inform cross-functional teams of new feature technical design, technical requirements, limitations, and implementation.
  • Follow an iterative software development methodology and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle and support.
  • Articulate development status to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Continually refine business acumen and establish domain/industry vertical expertise.

Requirements
  • Experienced in Golang (Ruby on Rails, Rust, JavaScript as bonuses)
  • Experience in building systems to operate at scale
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience
  • Ability to work in multiple programming languages and systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with cloud deployments (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Prior experience working with Docker and Kubernetes

Preferences:
  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Golang
  • DevOps experience
