Contract Nestjs Developer information

What is a contract Nestjs developer?

Contract Nestjs Developers are software professionals who specialize in building server-side applications using the NestJS framework on a contractual basis. These developers are typically hired for specific projects or timeframes to design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend systems using NestJS, which is a popular Node.js framework. Contract Nestjs Developers often collaborate with frontend teams, write APIs, and integrate various services while ensuring code quality and project deliverables. Their expertise allows companies to quickly scale development efforts without committing to long-term employment.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a contract Nestjs developer?

To thrive as a Contract Nestjs Developer, you need strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, solid experience with Node.js, and a thorough understanding of the Nestjs framework, typically supported by a computer science degree or relevant certifications. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, database systems like MongoDB or PostgreSQL, and tools such as Git and Docker are commonly required. Excellent problem-solving, self-management, and communication skills help you deliver quality code and collaborate effectively in remote or distributed teams. These skills ensure that you can build scalable, maintainable applications efficiently and meet client expectations in a contract-based environment.

What are some common challenges faced by contract Nestjs developers when joining new projects?

Contract NestJS developers often encounter challenges such as quickly understanding legacy codebases, adapting to varying coding standards, and aligning with different team workflows. Since contract roles usually require fast onboarding, developers must efficiently communicate with in-house teams to clarify requirements and expectations. Additionally, they may need to integrate with diverse technology stacks and ensure their code aligns with the project's architectural patterns, all while adhering to tight deadlines typical of contract assignments.

I am reaching out to share an excellent career opportunity for the role of Lead Full Stack Software Engineer/Architect with our esteemed client. If you are interested then please share your updated resume at Himanshu01@kanakits.com .

Job Description

Position           : Lead Full Stack Software Engineer/Architect

Location          : Fremont, CA Hybrid

Duration         : Long term contract

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead to join our Supply Chain & Services Portal program. This role blends strong backend and integration expertise with frontend oversight in React, plus architectural responsibilities.

This is not a “paper architect” role — you’ll be coding, guiding developers, reviewing designs, unblocking technical issues, and owning releases. You will work across Node.js/Java backend tracks, supply chain ERP integrations, and frontend alignment to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Backend & Integrations

  • Lead backend and integration design using API-first principles and event-driven architecture.
  • Build and maintain production-grade services in Node.js/TypeScript (NestJS) and/or Java (Spring Boot, Microservices).
  • Define and enforce best practices around error handling, retries/DLQs, RBAC/ABAC, observability, performance, and security.
  • Architect and oversee AWS serverless solutions (Lambdas, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, API Gateway) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Drive orchestration on platforms like Workato to replace point-to-point integrations, ensuring robust monitoring, error handling, and rollback strategies.

Supply Chain Focus

  • Bring strong understanding of ERP (SAP/Oracle) integrations and EDI flows (850/855/856/810, costing updates, etc.).
  • Support cutover planning, validations, and ensure data accuracy across supply chain transactions.

Frontend Oversight (React)

  • Provide guidance to frontend developers, ensuring proper use of React + TypeScript.
  • Oversee micro-frontend contracts, authentication flows, and integration with backend services.
  • Ensure resilience and alignment across frontend-backend boundaries.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (product, ERP, infra, frontend) to deliver end-to-end supply chain solutions.
  • Mentor developers, unblock technical challenges, and ensure on-time, high-quality releases.
  • Stay current with emerging backend, integration, and frontend practices, shaping technical strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of software development with strong backend expertise.
  • Proven experience as a Tech Lead, balancing hands-on coding with architectural leadership.
  • Expertise in Node.js (TypeScript) and/or Java (Spring Boot, Microservices).
  • Deep experience with API-first design, integrations, and event-driven systems.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS serverless services and modern CI/CD.
  • Strong understanding of ERP integrations (SAP/Oracle) and EDI flows.
  • Familiarity with frontend architecture in React/TypeScript (micro-frontends, auth, integration contracts).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for technical and business stakeholder engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Supply Chain management, logistics, or service portals.
  • Exposure to Workato or similar integration/orchestration platforms.
  • Background in automotive, logistics, or manufacturing domains.
  • Knowledge of Kafka, schema registries, and idempotent pipelines.
  • Relevant certifications (AWS, Java, ERP, architecture).
