Position Summary:

Oceaneering is seeking an NDT Level III to serve as the single point of contact for ensuring that applicable Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods and the Workmanship Program comply with customer directives, requirements, and specifications. The role is responsible for ensuring adherence to the SUBSAFE and Deep Submergence QA Manual, Surface QA Manual, OII-MSD Process Instructions, and customer specifications. The NDT Level III conducts audits, surveillance, performance evaluations, personnel training, certification activities, and vendor audits while supporting quality assurance and compliance across designated NDT methods. Frequent travel and overtime may be required.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct audits, surveillance activities, and performance evaluations for designated NDT methods, the Workmanship Program, and assigned vendor audits.
  • Interpret customer requirements, directives, and specifications into company Process Instructions for NDT Trainees, NDT Level I, NDT Level II, and Senior NDT Level II personnel.
  • Develop training agendas, conduct classroom training, examine personnel, and certify NDT personnel for applicable NDT methods.
  • Establish agendas and approve written and practical tests for the Workmanship Program.
  • Track personnel certification renewals, performance evaluations, and process updates.
  • Develop NDT calibration procedures.
  • Respond to audit findings related to designated NDT methods.
  • Serve as the liaison between external audit or surveillance activities and OII-MSD NDT personnel.
  • Support Tiger Team activities and perform NDT inspections in place of NDT Level II personnel when required.
  • Obtain commercial certifications such as CWI and API, when necessary.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:

Applicants must meet one of the following qualification pathways:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited four-year college or university, plus one additional year of experience as an NDT Level II in the applicable NDT method(s); or
  • Completion of at least two years of Engineering or Science studies at a university, college, or technical school, plus two additional years of experience as an NDT Level II in the applicable NDT method(s); or
  • Four years of experience as an NDT Level II in the applicable NDT method(s).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications in multiple NDT methods, including Visual Testing (VT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Eddy Current Testing (ET).
  • NBPL certification.
  • Technical knowledge of submarine and/or surface combat ships.
  • Basic familiarity with the ship construction and repair industry.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with personnel both inside and outside the organization.

  • Ability to ensure compliance with customer directives, specifications, and quality assurance manuals.
  • Ability to conduct audits, surveillance activities, and performance evaluations.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work overtime as required.
