CertificationsASNT Level II or equivalentASNT Level I or equivalent
Work ScopePerforms advanced nondestructive testing, interprets results, and supervises Level IPerforms basic nondestructive testing under supervision
Work EnvironmentIndustrial facilities, manufacturing plants, oil & gas, aerospaceSimilar environments, often entry-level roles
Employer UsageCommonly employed in inspection companies, manufacturing, and energy sectors

Contract Ndt Level Two professionals have advanced certifications and responsibilities, including interpreting test results and supervising Level I technicians. In contrast, Contract Ndt Level One technicians perform basic testing under supervision. The main difference lies in certification level, scope of work, and experience required, making Level Two roles more specialized and supervisory.

How much does a Contract Ndt Level Two make?

A Contract NDT Level Two typically earns between $25 and $50 per hour, depending on experience, industry, and location. Contract roles often offer higher pay rates compared to permanent positions but may lack benefits. Certification as an NDT Level Two in methods like ultrasonic, radiographic, or magnetic particle testing is essential for higher-paying opportunities.

Is Contract Ndt Level Two a good career choice?

Contract NDT Level Two is a specialized certification in nondestructive testing that allows individuals to perform and supervise testing activities using methods like ultrasonic, radiographic, and magnetic particle testing. It offers opportunities in industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, and aerospace, often with competitive pay and the potential for contract work. Career growth depends on experience, additional certifications, and industry demand for skilled NDT technicians.

Is Contract Ndt Level Two difficult to achieve?

Contract NDT Level Two is considered a challenging certification to obtain because it requires extensive experience, advanced knowledge of nondestructive testing methods, and successful completion of written and practical exams. Candidates typically need several years of field experience and must demonstrate proficiency with testing techniques such as ultrasonic, radiographic, or magnetic particle testing. The certification process is rigorous but achievable with proper training and experience.
