Job description

Description SAIC is seeking an Electrical Technician - Cable Fabrication to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will be a member of a highly motivated team providing hardware/software development, integration, and test support to the Systems Simulation, Software, and Integration (S3I) Directorate. Job Responsibilities: * Activities will include support of development, testing, and integration of special purpose electronics and cabling of launch vehicles, communications platforms, and rocket systems * Perform circuit design, analysis, simulation and component selection according to electrical/electronic hardware requirements * Perform initial build of prototype printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies * Build complex tactical cables with heat shrink jackets * Apply basic electronics engineering knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the following areas: * Cable/Harness Assembly to Class 3 * Prototype layout and assembly of boards * Assemble quick turn test assets * Familiar with Circular military connectors, wire and PCB components * Support all lab functions including military vehicle testing, building test assets, class 3 tactical cables, and precision measurement Qualifications Education Requirements: * Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related and two (2) years' experience; Six (6) years' of additional related work experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle)
Clearance Requirements: * The candidate must possess a Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; US Citizenship required
Required Skills: * The candidate must have experience related in fabrication, repairing, and testing of electro-mechanical hardware (CCA's, wiring harnesses, cables, test fixtures, LRU's)
* Must have a solid understanding of Electronics Theory and applications plus an ability to read and understand schematics
* IPC and J-Standard certification a plus
* Must have experience with SMT and PTH soldering and operation of basic test equipment such as meters and oscilloscopes
* Experience with functional and environmental testing a plus
* Tactical Cable building
* Experience working with Microsoft Windows environment
* Must be self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision
