Position Title: Senior Power Platform Developer (Information Systems Specialist 8)

The Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ), Information Services Section is seeking to hire a Senior Power Platform Developer (Information Systems Specialist 8) to serve as a senior-level authority, architect, and technical leader for our enterprise Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem spanning Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse, Power BI integrations, and AI-enabled capabilities. In this role, you will deliver expert consultation, design leadership, and platform engineering across DOJ divisions to build secure, reliable, compliant, and user-focused business applications that directly support mission-critical operations. You will ensure all solutions meet DOJ security baselines, follow enterprise governance standards, adhere to FTI, PII, CJIS, and NIST 800-53 requirements, and integrate seamlessly with enterprise systems, data platforms, identity controls, and external partners-using modern lifecycle, auditability, and compliance patterns. • Power Platform Governance and Compliance: Ensure operational reliability, performance, and compliance across the Power Platform; monitor capacity, environments, connectors, licensing, run histories, DLP policies, and environment-level controls; enforce governance (naming conventions, data classification, security roles, lifecycle retention); oversee versioning, dependencies, environment strategy, and risk mitigation, coordinating with Information Security (NIST-aligned controls, auditing, logging) and infrastructure teams (identity, integrations, platform sustainability).
  • Power Platform Architecture, Integrations, and ALM: Architect secure integrations with enterprise systems (SharePoint Online, Azure services, SQL, SaaS, DOJ data platforms); guide enterprise/custom connectors, APIs, and integration patterns; lead ALM (managed/unmanaged solutions, Dev/Test/Prod pipelines, GitHub/Azure DevOps automation, standardized deployments); run proofs of concept, evaluate capability updates, and recommend new Microsoft features/approaches that strengthen DOJ’s digital service experience; provide authoritative guidance in multi-team modernization efforts.
  • Enterprise Integration Planning and Coordination: Research, evaluate, and recommend platform-wide improvements, enterprise patterns, plugins, governance changes, and adoption strategies; create roadmaps for app modernization, workflow automation, low-code maturity, and cross-agency collaboration; develop architectural reviews, business cases, and impact analyses; contribute to statewide and DOJ architecture forums; lead planning for major releases, security updates, change windows, operational readiness, and customer-experience improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
  • Seven (7) years of experience in information systems.
  • Education will be counted as experience if degree is in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or if a two (2) year accredited vocational training program was completed in information technology or related field. • Strong experience with Dataverse, including data modeling, security roles, business rules, and integrations.
  • Proven ability to design end to end business solutions using Power Automate (cloud flows, approvals, integrations).
  • Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Azure services, and external systems via APIs/connectors.
  • Finalists must pass a comprehensive employment reference check and fingerprint-based criminal background check. A driver history check will be included for positions requiring state vehicle driving privileges. Adverse findings will be evaluated to determine eligibility for the position.
