Description

Our client is looking for 2 Azure Cloud Platform Engineers for 6 month contracts. After about 3 months, we will know if these resources can be extended, but it is highly likely. We are looking for individuals who have experience delivering Azure resources that support AI and AI deployments in a cloud platform. These resources will often partner with other IT stakeholders, particularly the Data and Analytics team who are focused on data warehousing projects, analytics and automation and providing the infrastructure that is needed within Azure to deploy their resources. The role will involve building templated AI foundry services, containers, managed services, and interacting with Fabric and Data Lake.

Client Job Description:

The Cloud Platforms Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, securing, and supporting Microsoft Azure

cloud platform services with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI (GenAI), Machine Learning (ML),

and Azure AI solutions. This role partners with business stakeholders, application teams, data teams, security

teams, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, secure, and governed AI capabilities that accelerate innovation

and business value.

The engineer will build and maintain Azure AI platforms including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure Machine

Learning, Azure AI Search, Cognitive Services, and the supporting Azure infrastructure components required to run

enterprise AI workloads reliably.

Focus includes on a day to day:

Platform Architecture & Engineering: Design and deploy Azure platform capabilities for AI workloads.

Security & Governance: Implement secure identity, access, data protection, and responsible AI controls.

Automation & IaC :Use repeatable deployment patterns, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.

AI Service Enablement : Enable business and technology teams to consume Azure AI services safely.

Operations & Support: Monitor, troubleshoot, optimize, and manage lifecycle of cloud and AI services.

Key Responsibilities

Azure AI Platform Engineering

• Design, deploy, and support enterprise AI platforms using Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search,

Azure Machine Learning, and Azure Cognitive Services.

• Implement reusable AI platform patterns, reference architectures, and landing-zone aligned deployment

models.

• Build scalable environments for AI experimentation, development, testing, and production workloads.

• Enable secure AI integration with enterprise applications, data sources, and business processes.

• Evaluate new Microsoft AI capabilities and recommend practical adoption roadmaps.

Cloud Architecture & Solution Deployment

• Design and deploy secure Azure cloud solutions that support AI and intelligent automation workloads.

• Build and manage Azure infrastructure including networking, storage, compute, containers, databases, and

platform services.

• Implement high availability, resiliency, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities for cloud platform services.

• Create architecture documentation, technical designs, deployment standards, and operational patterns.

Automation & Platform Operations

• Develop Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, JSON, and automation

scripts.

• Automate AI service deployment, governance controls, configuration standards, and repeatable operational

processes.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for cloud and AI platform workloads.

• Manage platform monitoring, observability, alerting, dashboards, and reliability practices.

Security & Governance

• Implement Azure security best practices including RBAC, Entra ID, Conditional Access, PIM, Key Vault,

encryption, and managed identities.

• Establish AI governance controls, responsible AI practices, model usage monitoring, data protection, and

lifecycle controls.

• Ensure Azure AI services meet enterprise security, privacy, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

• Participate in risk assessments, security reviews, remediation planning, and control validation.

AI Operations & Lifecycle Management

• Support AI solution deployment, monitoring, optimization, and lifecycle management.

• Implement usage tracking, capacity management, cost monitoring, quota management, and performance

reporting.

• Troubleshoot platform, connectivity, identity, AI service, and integration issues.

• Continuously improve runbooks, standards, and operational support models.

Business & Technical Collaboration

• Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, supportable cloud and AI technical solutions.

• Collaborate with solution architects, developers, data engineers, cybersecurity teams, business stakeholders,

and infrastructure teams.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance for enterprise AI adoption initiatives.

• Mentor team members and promote cloud platform, AI governance, and operational best practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
