Job description


Danbury Public Schools is seeking a qualified Behavior Analyst to support students with behavioral and developmental needs through the application of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The Behavior Analyst will collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to design, implement, and monitor instructional and behavioral programs that promote student success. The position includes conducting behavioral assessments, developing intervention plans, providing staff training, and supporting data-driven decision making for student programming.
Performance Responsibilities


  • Designs, monitors, and evaluates individual student instructional programs based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and provides written protocols for instruction and behavior management.
  • Establishes effective data collection and graphing systems; analyzes data and trains staff in appropriate data collection and analysis methods.
  • Conducts student-based assessments, observations, and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs); prepares written reports and participates in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings.
  • Provides ongoing training, coaching, and support to staff implementing ABA-based instructional and behavioral programs.
  • Models behavioral assessment and behavior intervention planning processes and serves as a resource to staff.
  • Interprets principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and explains their application to staff and parents in clear and practical terms.
  • Plans and presents workshops and competency-based professional development for staff on topics related to autism and behavioral interventions.
  • Provides parent training when necessary to support student programming and skill generalization.
  • Collaborates with staff, students, and families to develop appropriate instructional and behavioral goals.
  • Meets regularly with student-centered teams to review progress, monitor interventions, and participate in problem-solving processes.
  • Maintains current professional knowledge of developments in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Serves as a professional resource to teachers, pupil services staff, and administrators regarding effective instructional and behavioral supports for students.
  • Maintains confidential records and documentation of services in accordance with district and legal requirements.
  • Adheres to the highest professional and ethical standards of practice.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications

  • Current certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing.
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with autism and other developmental disabilities preferred.
