About the Role

**Role Location:ย While we are open to fully remote candidates within the continental United States, we have a strong preference for candidates based in Mountain and Pacific timezones.ย 

Our Manager, Legal Operations & Compliance will be the backbone behind howย Nearmap'sย legal function runs, day in and day out.ย You'llย lead the legal operations team and own our legal tech stack, including Jira, Conga/CPQ/CLM, Checkbox,ย Agiloft,ย DocuSignย and Salesforce, making sure intake, contracting and compliance work moves fast and scales as we grow.ย You'llย be the primary approver on quotes requiring legal review, and the first port of call when it comes to contract-generation tooling.ย Beyond that,ย you'llย take ownership of entity management,ย contractingย management,ย and our insurance program, and help drive the Company's broader compliance agenda. Working closely with Sales, Revenue Operations, Customer Success,ย and Finance across every region weย operateย in,ย you'llย be continually levelling up ourย Legals Ops and Complianceย functionsย to ensureย Legal keeps pace withย ourย fast-movingย business.ย 

  • Lead and develop the legal operations teamย byย strategicallyย allocatingย work, cross-training acrossย teams/verticals, and managing leave/coverage plans to avoid single points of failure.ย 
  • Oversee the RFQ/RFP process, working closely with the Contracts and Proposal Managerย and cross-functionallyย to build a scalable processย ensuringย timelyย and efficient submission of proposals and completed questionnairesย 
  • Own and triage the Legal Jira intake queue, ensuring requests are correctly routed, assigned, and progressed per the intake workflow.ย Explore ways toย optimize.ย 
  • Serve as primary approver on Salesforce quotes requiring legal review, applying the quote approvalย processย and escalating to delegates as needed.ย 
  • Support Sales and account teams on legal matters, including training on contract risk, handling customer-facing legal enquiries, and managing recurring requests (NDAs, sole source letters, imagery permissions, COIs).ย 
  • Review and negotiate NDAs and similar agreements, balancing risk identification with Nearmap's business needs, andย collaborateย on global legal projects led by regional Counsel.ย 
  • Own the legal technology strategy and stack, including Conga/CPQ, Checkbox,ย Agiloft,ย DocuSign, and the Salesforce Legal Queue, driving adoption, configuration, and vendor management.ย 
  • Maintain the contract management system, global contracts register, template/clause library, and document retention practices.ย 
  • Define andย maintainย legalย operationsย KPIs and dashboards (ticket volume, turnaround time, contract cycle time, outside counsel spend), using data to guide resourcing and process improvements.ย 
  • Manageย Nearmap'sย quoting and contracting process, including Schedule 1 terms and Order Level Materials.ย 
  • Support entity governance across allย jurisdictions, including registrations, annual renewals, registered agents, filings, and license renewals.ย 
  • Own the annual insurance renewal process with Nearmap's broker and manage certificate of insurance requests from customers and vendors.ย 
  • Support the Company's data privacy program andย maintainย the Legal Ops-owned policy library, ensuring version control, brand compliance, and regular review.ย 
  • Own compliance operations, regulatory statement delivery, and stand up an outside counsel management program covering engagement guidelines, spend, and business reviews.ย 
Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • Paralegal studiesย orย diploma in lawย andย 4+ years' experience in a legalย operationsย role, ideallyย by way of implementingย aย legalย operations functionย at a major law firm or in-house.ย 
  • Substantive experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and correspondence, with broad commercial and corporate law knowledge, particularly IP, licensing, SaaS, revenue recognition, and privacy in a technology context.ย 
  • Proven ability to manage complex problems and business needs in a fast-paced environment, balancing risk against quality with minimal supervision.ย 
  • Peopleย management experience, including performance management, workload allocation, and building team capability and capacity.ย 
  • Experience administering contract lifecycle management and legal workflow platforms (e.g., Conga/CPQ, Checkbox,ย Agiloft,ย DocuSign), withย a strongย systems and process orientation.ย 
  • Data-driven approach, using analytics and reporting to unlock team capacity and inform decision-making.ย 
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.ย High attention to detail andย proficiencyย inย MSย Office.ย

  • Experience with entity management, corporate governance, and administering compliance programs preferred.ย 
  • Exposure toย RFPย managementย andย government contracting (federal and local), including GSA Schedule contracts, preferred.ย
