Job description


The Contract Management Specialist ("CMS") will be responsible for supporting the contract lifecycle for agreements negotiated exclusively by Carnival Corporation's Global Sourcing team. This includes drafting, evaluating, and executing contracts, supporting approval process, and managing contract repository and reporting. The CMS supports and works in close collaboration with Sourcing Category Managers and will ensure all contracts adhere to business guidelines, legal policies, and follow proper workflows and compliance with internal requirements. As required, they will collaborate externally with Vendors and internally with various departments to obtain required feedback and approvals, and promptly resolve any issues in close collaboration with Sourcing Category Managers.
Essential Functions:
  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Overseeing sections of the contract lifecycle, from initiation to renewal or termination, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. This includes drafting, reviewing, negotiating, approval workflow to execution and manage contract repository and associated reporting.
  • Contract Management: Utilize Carnival's Contract Management System to route contract documents for approval and signature; ensure all relevant supporting documentation is uploaded into system; build and manage reporting that alerts sourcing managers on renewals and termination dates.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with external suppliers and internal stakeholders such as legal, compliance, tax, risk, data privacy, and supply chain managers, to ensure contract terms align with business objectives and compliance requirements
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide accurate reporting of the status of contracts and other ad-hoc reporting required by Supply Chain team to support strategic plans associated with spend categories (including, but not limited to: Global Travel, On Board Media Content, Global Gaming)
  • Adheres to Corporate Policies and Procedures including Code of Conduct, Audit Procedures and any control related responsibility for financial data entered, stored, or reported via business systems within employee's control (list not exhaustive).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Systems/Software: The CMS's responsibilities require an experienced level of use of Microsoft enterprise tools and systems such as: Word, Excel, as well as work knowledge of Microsoft Teams and common Sharepoint solutions (shared documents, Sharepoint , as well as contract management tools and document repositories (Ariba, Docusign, etc)
  • Problem solving: Interact with internal and external stakeholders to address/mediate complex contract issues and develop effective solutions to ensure timely resolution, required compliance and mitigate business risks to Carnival.
  • Impact: The role has a significant impact on the team's efficiency and required performance of company's contractual obligations and overall business operations.
  • Leadership: Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring adherence to contract management best practices. Act as Subject Matter Expert on common contracting language reviews, in close collaboration with and advice from Corporate Legal team.

Essential/Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Supply Chain or other applicable discipline, Associates degree at a minimum.

Essential experience required
  • 5+ years' relevant experience managing corporate contracts. Experience utilizing a CMS tool (Ironclad, Coupa, or the like) from drafting, redline review, approvals and beyond. Strong knowledge of legal requirements and standard contractual provisions involved with corporate contract law and terms of use.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.

Work Conditions:Work may require employee to work inside and/or outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
Physical Demands. Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
This position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
