Position: Cognos BI Architect with ThoughtSpot & Visual SDK
Location: Chicago, IL – Onsite from Day 1
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cognos BI Architect with hands-on expertise in ThoughtSpot and Visual SDK to join a dynamic team working on enterprise-level business intelligence and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in BI architecture, data visualization, and integrating modern BI platforms into scalable enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust BI architecture solutions using IBM Cognos BI
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions
- Develop and optimize complex reports, dashboards, and data models in Cognos BI
- Integrate and implement ThoughtSpot for advanced self-service analytics
- Leverage ThoughtSpot Visual SDK to embed custom analytics into business applications
- Collaborate with data engineering and ETL teams to ensure seamless data flow and governance
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior BI developers and analysts
- Ensure best practices for performance, scalability, and security in all BI solutions
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Cognos BI (Report Studio, Framework Manager, Transformer)
- Strong experience with ThoughtSpot, including implementation, modeling, and embedding analytics
- Hands-on experience with ThoughtSpot Visual SDK for custom embedding and API integration
- Proficiency in SQL and data modeling techniques
- Experience with data warehouses, dimensional modeling, and ETL pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and client-facing skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred)
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in cloud-based BI deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of additional BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum project methodologies
