Job description

Solidus Resources is a U.S.-based gold development company backed by Waterton Mining. The company is focused on advancing the Spring Valley Gold Project in Pershing County, Nevada, and specializes in taking high potential gold assets through late-stage development and into production. Solidus applies a technically rigorous, capital-disciplined approach to mine development, with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship, operational safety, and community engagement.
The Spring Valley Gold Project is located in the prolific Humboldt Range, an area with approximately 60 million ounces of gold endowment within a 50-mile radius. Envisioned as a long-life, low-cost open-pit, heap-leach operation, Spring Valley has a robust resource base and considerable exploration upside along a 7-mile strike length across the Black Ridge fault zone.
With a leadership team experienced in engineering, permitting, and large-scale project execution, Solidus Resources is advancing Spring Valley through feasibility, permitting, and construction, with a clear path toward operational readiness. The company's goal is to responsibly unlock the value of U.S.-based gold assets while building a reputation for excellence in project delivery and sustainable development.
Position Overview:
The Procurement Specialist (Generalist) is responsible for executing end-to-end sourcing and purchasing activities across a wide range of goods and services, with a strong focus on supporting mining operations. This role manages competitive bidding processes, supplier relationships, and contract execution while ensuring cost efficiency, compliance, and supply continuity. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with tendering processes, supplier negotiations, and procurement best practices.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, negotiation, purchase order issuance, and contract administration
  • Lead and administer competitive sourcing events, including RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes
  • Execute formal tendering processes:
    • Develop and issue bid documents
    • Receive and analyze supplier proposals
    • Conduct commercial evaluations
    • Prepare award recommendations
  • Issue and manage purchase orders and low-to-medium complexity contracts
  • Support and administer Master Service Agreements (MSAs) for goods and services
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Operations, Maintenance, Finance, etc.) to define requirements and sourcing strategies
  • Develop, maintain, and manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring and issue resolution
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contract terms, and industry regulations
  • Coordinate with logistics and suppliers, demonstrating understanding of Incoterms (e.g., FCA, DDP) and shipping arrangements
  • Support invoice resolution processes, including:
    • Understanding and applying three-way matching (PO, receipt, invoice)
    • Troubleshooting and resolving invoice discrepancies and vendor payment issues
  • Monitor market conditions and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of procurement experience, preferably in mining, heavy industry, or natural resources.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, tendering, bid evaluation, contract management, logistics, Incoterms, and accounts payable processes.
  • Proven negotiation, commercial analysis, and supplier management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering cost, quality, and service objectives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience with ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, integrity, accountability, and collaborative working style.
  • Experience with mine site operations, capital projects, MRO procurement, or professional procurement certification (CPSM, CIPS) is considered an asset.
