SUMMARY
 

Purchasing Specialist (Service & MRO) is responsible for managing and executing procurement tasks for Hanwha Qcells Georgia Plant. This role centers on organizing, controlling, and monitoring purchasing activities for assigned Purchase Requests (PRs), specifically focusing on facility and equipment services, outsourcing, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) items. The ideal candidate will develop and implement strategic sourcing solutions to drive cost savings and maximize operating results within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement & Service Management 

  • Lead the end-to-end purchasing process for assigned purchasing requests for Service & MRO items, from initial PR acceptance to final payment completion.
  • Manage procurement for specialized factory services, including equipment installation, rigging/machinery moving, facility maintenance, and operational outsourcing.
  • Negotiate competitive unit pricing, favorable contract terms, and Service Level Agreements with external vendors and contractors.

System Management & Financial Compliance 

  • Track and manage PO progress from creation through delivery and service execution.
  • Monitor PR/PO/GR statuses and lead AP closing activities for assigned categories.
  • Partner with Finance and cross-functional teams to resolve payment inquiries and financial discrepancies.

Supplier Management & Strategy 

  • Evaluate and supervise supplier performance regarding lead time, reactivity, service quality, reliability, and flexibility.
  • Act as the primary Supply Chain contact for vendors and service providers within the assigned scope.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to optimize lead times, expedite urgent requests, and resolve operational issues.
  • Analyze annual expenditures and report cost-saving metrics in line with company business plans.

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations) to clarify scopes of work (SOW) and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams and domestic/ overseas counterparts to coordinate local/ international shipments and propose optimal supply chain solutions.
  • Adhere to all Hanwha Qcells policies, procedures, and internal control guidelines.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Supply chain management, or a related field
  • 3 - 5 years of purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing experience (preferably in Services)
  • Working knowledge of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including areas that may not be climate-controlled. 
  • Bilingual fluency in both Korean and English (written and verbal)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Procurement experience in high-tech manufacturing, solar/renewable energy, or fast-growing startup environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
