Position Overview

TheIndustrial Electrician supports licensed or experienced Industrial Electricians by assisting with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and industrial equipment. This entry‑level position is ideal for individuals who want to develop a long‑term career in the electrical and industrial services field.

The ideal candidate is safety‑focused, mechanically inclined, and willing to learn through hands‑on work and ongoing training.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installation Support

  • Assist with installing electrical conduit (EMT, rigid), wiring, junction boxes, and cable trays.
  • Support the setup of motors, control panels, sensors, and equipment wiring.
  • Help read and interpret basic electrical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend conduit under supervision.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting Assistance

  • Help experienced electricians diagnose electrical issues and equipment failures.
  • Assist with testing circuits, components, and wiring using basic electrical tools.
  • Support preventive maintenance tasks such as inspections, cleaning, and component replacement.

Industrial Equipment & Project Support

  • Assist with installation of conveyors, machinery, automation equipment, and production systems.
  • Work closely with millwrights and mechanical teams on equipment installations or upgrades.
  • Help prepare job sites by gathering materials, tools, and equipment.

Worksite & Safety Responsibilities

  • Always follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Properly use PPE, inspect tools, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
  • Understand and follow lockout/tagout procedures under supervision.

Documentation & Communication

  • Accurately record hours worked, tasks performed, and materials used.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members.
  • Assist with basic job documentation as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Basic knowledge of electrical work OR strong mechanical aptitude.
  • 4 years of experience in electrical, construction, maintenance, or related trades.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Ability to travel to job sites and work overtime or weekends as needed.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred

  • Basic understanding of low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments.
  • Food & Beverage industry experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb ladders, and work at heights
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments, around machinery and varying temperatures
  • Capable of working in confined spaces or elevated areas when required
