Auburn Manufacturing/Export & Government Contracts Assistant/Mechanic Falls, ME

Auburn Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service Representative with Export & Government Contracts experience to join our collaborative team in Mechanic Falls, Maine

This is an ONSITE position. You must be able to commute to Mechanic Falls daily.  

The Customer Service Representative serves as a key point of contact for customers, supporting order management, quotations, product inquiries, and shipment coordination in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and delivering exceptional customer service while working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a positive customer experience

Requirements of the Export & Government Contracts Assistant
  • Associate's degree in Business, Marketing, International Business, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Minimum of three (3) years of customer service, sales, or office experience 

  • Strong communication and customer service skills 

  • Excellent phone etiquette and relationship-building abilities 

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment 

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook 

  • Experience with NetSuite, ERP, or CRM software preferred 

  • Ability to learn technical products and explain product features to customers 

  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow

Responsibilities of the Export & Government Contracts Assistant
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone and email 

  • Process customer orders, quotations, and sample requests 

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment 

  • Maintain customer records, pricing information, and transaction details 

  • Resolve routine customer concerns and escalate issues as appropriate 

  • Support sales, marketing, and business development initiatives 

  • Generate reports and analyze customer and sales data using NetSuite 

  • Assist with export, government contract, and other customer service functions as needed 

  • Welcome visitors and support administrative activities 

  • Participate in training, special projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
