Company Description

IDEALFORCE has a CONTRACT position available immediately for a Database Designer/Developer/Sr to join our customer in Phoenix Arizona. This is an ONSITE position. Please find below additional details about this job. Candidates are expected to carry their own laptop to work for this role.

The RFR project is an initiative to re-engineer and rewrite an aging legacy application in order to design and develop a modern system architecture that promotes stability, flexibility and scalability. This project is considered critical to the Client due to the substantial business process efficiencies enabled by the Clients financial systems.

The architecture and database design phase of the project just beginning and the project team would like to contract a DBA/Developer resource through the end of the project to assist in the areas of database design, data conversion, database normalization and performance, and application development. The legacy database resides in an Informix Online database system. The target database platform is Microsoft SQL Server 2014.

Job Description

The responsibilities for the DB Designer/Developer will include the following:


Design of new target database

Review and understand system requirements and translate to database entities

Ability to develop and understand logical and physical database entity relationship diagrams and models.

Develop database for usability, performance and normalization


Conversion of data from the legacy Informix application to a SQL 2014 database

Design, development and implementation of data conversion processes from the legacy system to the new system

Complete documentation of data conversion activities and processes

Understand the legacy RFR database structure and functionality

Understand the new RFR database structure and functionality

Map data elements from legacy system to new system

Provide data scrubbing activities are required which may include pre conversion or post conversion cleanup or both

Assist QA in development of test plans to validate that all data was successfully migrated


Secondary:

Assist in the development of the application to support a robust and highly performing database.

Fine tune the RFR database to ensure production ready performance

Maintain system documentation related to the database architecture and development standards

Mentor and provide knowledge transfer to COSC team members who will be supporting the application post production.

Qualifications

Application Software Experience:

Database design

Database Entity Relationship Diagraming tools

Data conversion and data mapping of large enterprise databases

Database ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) tools and methodologies

Informix Dynamic Server Version 7

Microsoft SQL Server 2014

T-SQL, SSIS or other ETL activities

Stored Procedure development


Preferred Experience:

ORM experience with Entity Framework

WCF RIA services experiences with custom domain services

Experience with Visual Studio 2013

Experience with .Net 4.0 and AngularJS development

Experience with Team Foundation Server

Experience with SSRS and SSAS

Prior experience with systems within the justice and law enforcement community
