Contract Graphic Design Relocation information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a contract graphic designer, especially when relocating, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Contract Graphic Designer, you need strong skills in visual design, typography, and branding, typically backed by a degree in graphic design or equivalent experience and a compelling portfolio. Familiarity with industry-standard tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and project management systems is essential. Excellent communication, adaptability, and time management are crucial soft skills, especially when adjusting to new locations and clients. These skills ensure you can deliver high-quality design work efficiently while building strong client relationships, regardless of your work environment.

While both roles require similar skills, the relocation specialization emphasizes logistics and branding related to moving services.

What is a contract graphic design relocation?

A Contract Graphic Design Relocation job involves working as a graphic designer on a temporary or project-based contract, typically requiring you to move to a new location for the duration of the assignment. These roles may be offered by companies or agencies that need specialized design skills for a specific project or to cover a temporary need. Relocation assistance or stipends are sometimes provided to help with moving costs. Such positions are ideal for designers seeking flexibility, variety in their work, and the chance to experience new cities or environments. It's important to review contract terms carefully, especially regarding the duration, pay, benefits, and relocation support.

How do contract graphic designers handle collaboration and feedback when working on relocation projects for clients in different geographic locations?

Contract graphic designers working on relocation projects often collaborate remotely with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders who may be in different time zones. Clear communication is essential, so designers frequently use collaboration tools like Slack, Zoom, and shared cloud drives to exchange ideas and receive feedback. Regular check-ins and well-defined project milestones help ensure everyone stays aligned despite physical distance. Flexibility in scheduling and adapting to clients' preferred feedback methods are also important to keep projects on track and meet deadlines.

Schedule: Monday - Friday | Full-Time
Design the Future of the Powersports Industry.
At Turn 14 Powersports, we're passionate about building brands that fuel enthusiasts. As a leading distributor of aftermarket powersports parts and accessories, we're looking for a talented Graphic Designer to join our in-house marketing team in Keller, Texas.
This is a hands-on creative role where you'll develop compelling marketing assets that elevate some of the industry's most recognized brands. From digital campaigns and product launches to packaging, event graphics, catalogs, and social media content, your work will directly impact brand awareness, customer engagement, lead generation, and sales.
If you're a creative thinker who enjoys solving business challenges through great design, thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and wants to see your work come to life across multiple channels, we'd love to meet you.
Position Overview
As a Graphic Designer, you'll create visually engaging marketing materials across a diverse portfolio of industry-leading brands. Working closely with Marketing, Product, Sales, eCommerce, and Brand teams, you'll develop creative solutions that connect with both dealer partners and consumers while maintaining consistent brand standards across every touchpoint.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who understands that exceptional design isn't just beautiful-it's strategic, purposeful, and drives measurable business results.
What You'll Do
  • Design marketing assets across print, digital, web, social media, email, packaging, retail, and event channels.
  • Support new product launches, seasonal promotions, brand campaigns, and marketing initiatives.
  • Develop dealer-facing sales materials that help drive product sales and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Create consumer-focused creative that builds brand awareness and drives traffic to dealer partners.
  • Maintain and evolve brand standards across multiple brands and product categories.
  • Collaborate with photographers, videographers, copywriters, marketers, product managers, and sales teams to bring campaigns to life.
  • Balance multiple creative projects, deadlines, and priorities while maintaining exceptional quality.
  • Contribute fresh ideas and innovative thinking to marketing campaigns and creative initiatives.
  • Stay current with design trends, emerging technologies, and marketing best practices.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

✅ What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 3+ years of professional graphic design experience in an in-house marketing department, agency, or brand environment.
  • Exceptional portfolio showcasing strong design fundamentals and marketing-focused creative work.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, and related applications.
  • Experience designing for both digital and print environments.
  • Strong understanding of typography, branding, layout, color theory, and production processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Mac operating systems.
  • Experience with image manipulation, retouching, and color correction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback, iterating quickly, and continuously improving creative work.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with a passion for learning new tools, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Ability to mentor junior designers, freelancers, or interns when needed.

Bonus Points
  • Experience within the powersports, automotive, motorsports, outdoor, lifestyle, enthusiast, or aftermarket industries.
  • Understanding of dealer networks, retail marketing, and consumer marketing strategies.
