What You'll Do

As a GIS Technician I, you'll support the development and maintenance of geospatial data, maps, and reporting products while working under the guidance of experienced GIS professionals. In this role, you will:

  • Create GIS data layers, maps, tables, reports, and other spatial deliverables using ESRI's ArcGIS suite and related applications.

  • Prepare, edit, and maintain geospatial datasets in accordance with project standards and quality requirements.

  • Collect, verify, organize, and manage spatial data from a variety of internal and external sources.

  • Perform basic spatial analysis and data updates using established GIS workflows and methodologies.

  • Support engineering, planning, and environmental teams by producing accurate mapping products and visualizations.

  • Collaborate with senior GIS staff while continuing to develop your technical knowledge and GIS best practices.

  • Contribute to a team culture focused on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For
  • Associate degree in Geographic Information Systems or a related field (ESRI certification may be substituted for a degree).

  • Basic proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS software and related GIS applications.

  • Familiarity with surveys, legal descriptions, construction plans, aerial imagery, and orthophotography.

  • Understanding of cartographic principles, coordinate systems, map projections, scales, and spatial data management.

  • Ability to create clear, accurate maps and other geospatial deliverables.

  • Basic understanding of programming concepts and technical documentation.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.

  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime as project needs require.
