Job description

Job Description:
Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is seeking a GIS Platform Analyst reporting to the Data Manager in Midland, Texas. This role is responsible for the technical backbone of our GIS platform - administering enterprise systems, building and maintaining spatial data pipelines, and ensuring the reliability and integrity of GIS data across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with Esri's ArcGIS Enterprise platform and spatial data automation tools, a strong understanding of data integration and pipeline development, and the ability to operate both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced oil and gas environment. We are open to mid-level candidates who demonstrate strong fundamentals and clear potential, as well as senior candidates ready to hit the ground running.
General Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server, and geodatabase), ensuring platform stability, security, and availability across all business users and teams
  • Build, maintain, and optimize FME workspaces and automated workflows that move and transform spatial data between GIS and enterprise systems, keeping data current and reducing manual intervention
  • Ensure GIS data stays aligned and synchronized with other company data platforms, including Databricks and land and production systems
  • Own the enterprise geodatabase architecture including data modeling, versioning, replication, and storage -- serving as the single source of truth for spatial data across Land, Production Ops, Facilities, Environmental, and Midstream.
  • Develop and maintain tools and automated workflows that enforce data quality standards and reduce reliance on manual processes
  • Establish and enforce GIS data standards, naming conventions, and schema governance across all business domains to ensure long-term data consistency and reliability
  • Monitor GIS environments to ensure system health, proactively identify issues, and support the mapping team by resolving technical blockers that affect their day-to-day work
  • Manage and direct contract GIS backend support, ensuring outside resources work within established standards and reducing long-term vendor dependency
  • Partner with data engineers, IT, and business subject matter experts across all departments to deliver reliable spatial data that supports operational decisions
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation; adhere to coding and data governance practices that support long-term maintainability and scalability

Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a GIS Analyst supporting Land and BD A&D operations
  • BA/BS in Geography, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of progressive GIS employment history
  • Proven competency with ESRI's software suite, specifically ArcMap, ArcPro, ESRI's Enterprise Portal and ArcSDE database
  • Knowledge of Quorum, LandWorks, P2 or related lease management software
  • Strong cartographic experience providing internal and external maps and graphics
  • Experience reading, interpreting and digitizing legal land descriptions using ESRI's COGO tool or other software platforms

Preferred Qualifications
  • Self-motivated and capable of independently integrating within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
