Summary:

The Idealease Account & Rental Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key customer relationships, and overseeing the full lifecycle of both contract leasing and rental operations. Reporting to the Idealease General Manager, this role combines strategic sales leadership with handson operational management to support company profitability, customer satisfaction, and departmental efficiency.

The Account & Rental Manager leads the acquisition of new contract, addon, and renewal business; manages a portfolio of existing customers; and executes targeted sales and marketing plans for both the lease/maintenance and rental divisions. This position develops and maintains a structured prospecting process, manages CRM data integrity, prepares sales forecasts, and delivers regular sales reporting.

In addition to sales responsibilities, the role oversees daily rental department operations, ensuring rental revenue goals, fleet utilization targets, and margin objectives are consistently achieved. The manager establishes and maintains operational policies, oversees equipment checkin/checkout processes, ensures compliance with company and DOT standards, manages rental billing accuracy, and maintains customer files, insurance documents, and utilization reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial truck leasing, rental, fleet management, transportation, or related B2B sales.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for customer visits.

Essential Functions:

Sales & Business Development (Lease, Dedicated maintenance, and Rental sales)

  1. Achieve new, add and renewal annual sales quota to the desired gross margin requirements.
  2. Sales and marketing of the Idealease Sales Department.
  3. Assist the management team in preparing an Annual Business Plan along with the 90 day forecast.
  4. Lease/Dedicated Maintenance Sales
  5. Assist in developing and implementing a rental sales and marketing plan.
  6. Establish Idealease rates for various equipment types through market analysis.
  7. Develop and use a systematic approach to rental sales calls utilizing telemarketing, mailers and personal customer visits.
  8. Provide weekly and monthly sales reports to management as required.
  9. Maintain a customer/ prospect sales database
  10. Achieve rental revenue, expense control and profitability objectives.

 Account & Customer Relationship Management

  1. Develop and maintain customer relationships
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with large volume rental customers.
  3. Develop and use a systematic approach to the Lease/Dedicated Maintenance Sales, utilizing sales tools along with customer development calls.
  4. Maintain a Customer/Prospect Sales database.
  5. Maintain and review Customer Evaluations on a periodic basis to ensure good customer relations.

Operations Management (Contract & Rental)

  1. Daily interaction with all Idealease departments to ensure Contract customers are maintained to highest level of customer service.
  2. Rental fleet equipment management.
  3. Develop and maintain policies and procedures for Rental Operations, to include: checkin/ checkout of equipment, vehicle files, customer files and daily yard checks.
  4. Daily interactions with the Service department to ensure rental equipment is maintained according to company standards and DOT regulations.
  5. Develop and maintain a system for daily yard checks and reporting of rental utilization to management.
  6. Develop and maintain a rental billing routine to ensure accurate and timely billing of rental charges to customers.
  7. Follow company procedures regarding all credit policies and assist on collection efforts.
  8. Use all Idealease sales tools including the Idealease Rating System, proficient use of the VAMA Program (Vehicle Acquisition Maintenance Analysis) and all other sales tools offered on the IRC or from Idealease Corporate.
  9. Maintain current new unit delivery report and update for all forecasting purposes.
  10. Develop and maintain a system for customer insurance files, verifying customer coverage is documented and on file.
  11. Maintain a current and accurate customer turndown log.

Leadership, Conduct, and Organizational participateion

  1. Communicate and cooperate with all departments.
  2. Attend company meetings as required.
  3. Handle all employee and customer issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  4. Any other duties assigned by the Idealease General Manager.
