Job description

Driver/QC Inspector

The Driver/QC Inspector plays a critical dual role within the manufacturing environment, ensuring both the safe and timely transportation of materials and the rigorous quality control of products. This position requires a professional who can efficiently manage delivery routes while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Simultaneously, the QC Inspector aspect involves conducting detailed inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods to verify compliance with company and industry quality standards. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high product quality, minimizing defects, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, this role is essential in bridging logistics and quality assurance to support seamless manufacturing operations and customer satisfaction.

Main duties include but not limited to:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate company vehicles safely.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of quality standards and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints and quality specifications.
  • Document inspection results accurately and report any deviations or non-conformities to the quality management team for corrective action.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine maintenance checks to ensure operational safety and compliance with transportation regulations

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience operating commercial vehicles or forklifts.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and safety regulations.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with quality management software and electronic documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate commercial vehicles such as dump trucks and box trucks to transport materials and finished products safely and efficiently.
  • Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies to ensure safety and legal operation of commercial vehicles.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Read and interpret maps, delivery schedules, and transportation instructions to plan routes and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Preferred skills such as certification in quality control enhance the ability to apply advanced inspection techniques and contribute to process improvements.
  • Computer proficiency supports accurate documentation and reporting, facilitating effective communication with production and quality teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills help in collaborating across departments to resolve issues and maintain smooth operational workflows.
