Registered Nurse - Child & Family OP

Join Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) as a Registered Nurse on our Child and Family Outpatient Services team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, adolescents, and their families. This full-time role offers a consistent Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule and comprehensive benefits while providing the opportunity to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a mission-driven environment. As part of our interdisciplinary Physician Operations team, you will support youth ages 4-18 through medication management, nurse visits, long-acting injection administration, prior authorizations, and coordination with families, schools, and community partners. You'll collaborate closely with psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners to ensure high-quality, coordinated care that helps young patients achieve their treatment goals and remain connected to their support systems. We're seeking a clinically strong, self-motivated RN with an active Colorado license, current BLS certification, and a passion for working with children and families, especially those with mental health challenges in diverse communities. Salary for this role. Starting wage is based on licensure and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.

  • $36.56 - $44.00 hourly

Bilingual Language Differential Pay. Employees who successfully pass a language assessment are eligible to receive bilingual differential pay. This differential is provided as a fixed amount of $3,000 per calendar year, paid on a bi‑weekly basis across 26 pay periods, and prorated based on hire date and full‑time equivalency (FTE). Eligibility and payment are subject to the language requirements of the position and the employee's demonstrated proficiency in the language.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the clinical functions of the medical team (completing all medical orders and communicating vital patient care information to physician/prescriber).
  • Perform nursing interventions for which an RN has been trained.
  • Observe, identify and monitor condition of patient, including changes in symptoms, and relates same to appropriate members of the treatment team.
  • Administer injections and medications, as required.
  • Provide medical case management and other clinical interventions, as appropriate.
  • Act as liaison to outside agencies and providers to ensure continuity of care for patients.
  • Provide assistance in crisis intervention, as needed.
  • In a timely manner, accurately and completely chart interventions, lab results, medications dispensed and all activities related to patient interactions according to organization's procedures.
  • Complete required education and training in a timely manner.
  • Provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and coordinate care for assigned clients in partnership with the other members of the client's care team.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Associate's in Nursing required. A bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Colorado Registered Nurse Licensure Requirement: Per Colorado BHA regulations, you must hold an active Colorado RN license before providing any client services. Out-of-state multi-state or compact licenses are not sufficient.
  • Preferred: one year of relevant clinical experience.
  • Ability to administer medications and injections.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Ability to take directives
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn/utilize electronic health record.

Required Vaccinations and TB Test. AMHR has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, receive an annual influenza (flu) shot, and receive negative TB test results prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations and negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for the COVID-19 vaccine, annual flu shot or TB test.
