Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support a community-based vaccination initiative. The RN will administer a variety of immunizations in a retail healthcare setting while delivering exceptional patient care, educating patients, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
This is a patient-facing role requiring flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer immunizations including:
- Influenza (Flu)
- COVID-19
- MMR
- Hepatitis A & B
- Tdap
- Shingles (Zoster)
- Pneumococcal
- HPV
- RSV
- Other CDC-recommended vaccines
- Assess patients prior to vaccination.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions following immunization.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and vaccine records.
- Educate patients regarding vaccines, side effects, and post-vaccination care.
- Follow infection prevention and safety protocols (PPE provided).
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and organizational policies.
- Adapt to changing workflows and patient volumes.
- Support a positive, patient-centered healthcare environment.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, including immunization experience.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Strong medication administration and clinical assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must not appear on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
- Verifiable High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail health, public health, occupational health, or community vaccination clinics.
- Experience administering multiple vaccine types.
- Strong customer service and patient education skills.
