About This Role

Floor Covering Estimator / Measure Person


We're a long-standing family-owned retail flooring showroom known for exceptional customer service and a professional staff. We're seeking an experienced flooring professional to join our team as a Floor Covering Estimator / Measure Person.

A former or current Flooring Mechanic / Installer would be an ideal candidate to continue your Flooring Career!


This position involves taking accurate flooring measurements, translating those measurements into a flooring job quote, and managing various projects to ensure proper installations and customer satisfaction.

A company car and phone are supplied, or reimbursement for a personal vehicle if used.

The typical workweek is Monday to Friday, but flexibility may be required for Saturday estimates if needed.


What You'll Do

The following are some of the key responsibilities for this position:

  • Visit job sites to measure and estimate labor costs for flooring projects.
  • Respond to customer inquiries about flooring and provide expert advice.
  • Assemble labor prices and quotes for customers or sales representatives.
  • Close sales whenever possible, leveraging your negotiation skills to secure new business.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and deadlines to ensure timely completion.
  • Input sales orders into the computer system, maintaining accurate records and up-to-date information.
  • Nurture relationships with other store employees, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Follow up with customers or sales representatives in a timely and professional manner, ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Proactively seek out new business opportunities, expanding our customer base and driving growth.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Flooring experience (Installation would be a plus)
  • Must have open and flexible work availability.
  • Project management is a plus but not required.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and be willing to learn our software operating system
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Professionalism, to include dependability, accountability, and punctuality.
  • Self-motivated to excel in your position and career.
  • Clear driving record with current Driver's License
  • Time management skills for juggling multiple deadlines.
