The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician/Journeyman performs skilled electrical and instrumentation maintenance repair, troubleshooting, and installation of equipment in our Rhinelander, WI plant. Requirements
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Must hold a valid journeyman card, indicating successful completion of an accredited apprenticeship program;
OR
  • Associates Degree in one or more of the following:
    • Electromechanical
    • Electrical Engineering Technology
    • Electrical System Maintenance
  • 5 years of relevant experience in pulp and paper industry preferred
  • Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime
  • Respond to emergency call-ins (in accordance with the labor contract)
  • Proven ability to work safely
Responsibilities
  • Must follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures, and policies, as applicable to the position's areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds at waist level
  • Lifting up to 35 pounds to crown level
  • Push/Pull up to 50 pounds of force
  • Grip strength of at least 50 pounds
  • Work at low levels (kneel/crouch/crawl)
  • Climbing a vertical latter/stepladder/stairs
  • Walk continuously in safety toe footwear on concrete, metal, and uneven surfaces
  • Ability to balance on narrow surfaces
  • Perform wiring while lying on back or side
  • Perform static forward/overhead work reach up to 2 minutes
  • Perform fine motor activities
