Job description

Job Title: Water/Wastewater Project Engineer 
Job Location: Hunt Valley, MD 
Job Type: Full time 

Job Description:  

  • Analyze project requirements and information from alternative studies to develop an accurate report for submittal. 

  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects/tasks 

  • Assessing and identifying collection/distribution system performance deficiencies, predicting future issues, and developing solutions for planning and design projects 

  • Candidates must demonstrate familiarity with hydraulic designs, sewer rehabilitation, water and sewer design, water and water/wastewater pump station and treatment process design, engineering economics, preparation of specifications and engineering report writing 

  • Candidates should have a firm grasp of general heavy construction principles; environmental facilities operations-related experience is considered a plus 

  • Perform design computations 

  • Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools 

  • Develop or review the construction cost estimate. 

  • Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates 

  • Attend meetings with clients and assist taking meeting minutes 

  • Coordinate with other disciplines and understand how they fit into the project and design. 

  • Quality review of project design in accordance with the Project Management Plan. 

  • Technical oversight and guidance/support of Design Engineers within department. 

Required Experience 

  • 5-10 Years’ Experience 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited university 

  • Proficient in related design software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, and MS Project 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 

  • Written and communication skills 

Preferred Experience 

  • Possess a Professional Engineering License  

  • Experience working with local clients at the county and state level
